The institutional framework of the communities is the Silvabella Social Cooperative which began the work of welcoming minors and mothers with children in the community in 2013 in the Pavia area. In 2016 the Silvabella Social Cooperative continues the development of community work by founding the Pezzettino communities for minors in Milan. The community is expanding rapidly and from 2019 it gradually moves to more natural scenarios, in the greenery of Varese and Casciago (Va) which totally supports its ideas and values. Today there are two communities in Varese and they welcome children from 0 to 12 years and parent child nucleus.

The Silvabella Social Cooperative was founded in 1997 as a non-profit association, with socio-welfare-educational services; intervenes in the entire area of Lomellina, Pavia, Oltrepò Pavese, Milanese area and in the Varese area.

Silvabella values the principles of the cooperative culture and for this reason:
employs qualified and motivated personnel in a continuous training process, promotes multidisciplinary team work, promotes the development of social networks through the dissemination of a culture of listening, comparison, involvement of diversity, development of a sense of community , promotes the experimentation of innovative social-welfare-educational intervention models and their transferability.

Communities arise from the commitment of several operators who have been working for some time in the helping professions: psychologists, educators, pedagogists.

The Pezzettino team is made up of professional educators, a coordinator, support staff dedicated to cooking and housekeeping.

Il Pezzettino has within it a clinical team which includes psychologists and pedagogists who dedicate themselves to care through constant clinical work and discussion with the team of the University of Padua with which the Silvabella Social Cooperative and specifically the communities Pezzettino signed an agreement in 2019.

The director of Il Pezzettino daily integrates the educational intervention with her supervision and her skills; the psychologist offers children a space of their own in which to be able to signify everyday life and their own history.
