A story, a cure.

The name "Il Pezzettino" recalls the beautiful story for children illustrated by Leo Lionni (with the authorization and enthusiastic approval of the publisher): a story of search for identity that condenses an idea of fragility, research and recomposition with a happy ending.

Pezzettino is searching, like our children: "Whose am I?" "Am I your little piece?". Pezzettino is a story that tells of the search for oneself, of the need to find one's place in the world. This fable evoked to the working group the very idea that a child who arrives in the community needs to find safe places, continuity, resilience and to repair an often fragmented self.

In the book, research has a beginning and an end. Children like to be reassured and to know that they will be "bits", but only for a limited time. A little piece of road, in fact! Communities will not be the place where they will grow up for many years but they want to be a safe home where they will be helped to build new balances. Il Pezzettino wants to be the place where children can find adults who tune in to their emerging needs: the first, understanding.
